Here's the thing about coats: when I lived in Boston, I thought of them as a method of survival, not as part of my outfit. But today I'm challenging that thought, and looking back I wish I would have worn more outfits like today's! The coat is part of the "look", especially if you were able to wear it open like I show it here. This photo inspired me to give it a try and I'm glad I did! I. love. this. blazer. Not only is it the perfect shade of neon pink, but it's also the most comfortable blazer I own. (It's a stretchy knit, but holds its shape, unlike most knit blazers I've seen.) For my first time wearing it, I got a little inspiration from Olivia Palermo for a night out with my friends! (minus the random green shoes) It was the perfect way to dress up for a chilly night out in Orlando. Pink blazers - on your wish list, rocking it now, or not for you?

Hey you guys! I sincerely apologise for being away all this while. One thing led to another and then I thought I needed something major to come back with and make up for all the time I have been away. A big hearty thank you to all those who kept motivating me all this while I was away.

I had seen the trend of wearing a long sleeve shirt as a skirt but I hadn't seen it done this well and look this good on anyone before. And though I am STILL loaded with all the work and everything, I couldn't help but share it with you guys.

StyleBistro: How would you describe your personal style?

Maria Menounos: My style is classic-sexy. I like to keep it classic but I like to keep it young and trendy at the same time. But only trends that fit me. I don't follow every trend but I like to be trendy when it works

. SB: What trends for fall are you looking forward to wearing?

Maria: I just went out and bought a big, fuzzy vest...almost like shearling. It's warm and soft—fuzzy and cute. I also got some great wedge booties that are suede and have a little leather belt that goes around your ankle. Leopard print, any kind of animal print is also really big this season. And, of course, bold colors.

SB: Who would you love to swap closets with?

Maria: Probably Victoria Beckham.

SB: As a host for Extra who's constantly working the red carpet events, what's been your favorite red carpet outfit so far?

Maria: This year's Emmys gown was one of my favorites. The dress was absolutely gorgeous. It was Emannuel Ungaro. I took it off the rack and it fit like a glove and I just loved it. I just thought it was such a unique way to wear black—I'm not normally a big fan of wearing black, but it was so beautiful, I couldn't help myself.

SB: Any red carpet regrets?

Maria: Definitely! One year at the Emmys I wore my version of a tutu. I have to say, I've been pretty good… I think the key is, if you do stick to classics and trends that fit you, you're not going to have as many mishaps as those who don't pay attention to what works with their bodies and what works with their persona. So, I don't feel like I have as many as I could.

SB: You were Miss Massachussets Teen USA and was first runner-up at the 2000 Miss USA pageant. How did competing in pageants affect your life?

Maria: Pageants taught me time management, how to promote myself, how to get ready really fast—I learned how to get my hair and make up done in twenty minutes by myself and do it well, which is really key, because now I can do it myself in a blink without having any issues.

SB: You released a lifestyle book this year, called The EveryGirl's Guide to Life. What motivated you to write the book?

Maria: I'm blessed that my questions always get answered and, for the most part, by the best experts in the world. Whenever there's a problem, I have access the best experts in the world—my questions never go unanswered. After 11 years of being in the business, I've accrued a lot of knowledge and I've seen a lot, so I decided to share it all in this book. I have all this information and people really need honest help. I did not get paid to mention any of those products or companies; I 100 percent use those things everyday. Stars aren't always upfront with what they're using, and the feedback I've gotten about the book is that people loved it because I was honest and because I did share all of my secrets. I want to help women live a better, healthier, happier, more successful life.

SB: You're also a contributor on Dr. Drew's Lifechangers. What inspired you to do the show?

Maria: When I was approached by Telepictures to come over to Extra and do Dr. Drew's show, it satisfied two goals that I had wanted to accomplish: I always wanted to work with Mario Lopezand I always wanted to work with Dr. Drew. For me, it's been a blessing because I still get to do all of the things that I love to do. I love to tell stories. I love to help people. And that's what the show is all about. It's great because even with everything that I know, there's always new stuff coming up. There are always new things to learn—new techniques, new products. I love that I get to experience all of that with that show.

Hi ladies!

Today I bring you a 'must do' this season: the blacks in the makeup of an eye, the so-called carbon look. For this inspired me in ELLE November.

The darker shades have remained as essential over the years with some variations. We have the inspiration of Paris, the glam rock, smokey eyes, among many others that we know well. All the iconic actresses used at some point one of these inspirations. These looks have become classics of this winter make-up and return in force.

Let us now focus on three commonly used:

Spiky lashes: This style can be used with a variety of looks, with neutral lipstick (for a natural look) or lipsticks strong (for a sophisticated look), so this will only need a good mascara encurvante and we are ready!

Shiny lids: This is the immortal smoky look, with adjunctive extra shine. It is a look inspired by rock and roll and should be used preferably in the evening and the light lips (so that the eyes are the star of makeup).

Winged liner: You are totally IN this season. It is a risk of black eyeliner with a slight curvature in the points awarded to makeup a romantic style and vintage. Like the spiky lashes can be used with virtually all, however you will be more beautiful than ever to fit in with the red lips.

On model Sophie Van Den Akker, hair stylist Annika Bowen used little product. If your hair is cooperative, all you really need for this style is some bobby pins and a spritzing of hairspray.

The style is best for short to shoulder-length hair, and works well with natural curls as well as straight hair.

Follow the steps below to create the look for yourself.

Make sure hair is prepped first. This style is great when hair is a little dirty (for example the second day after it’s been washed.)

Divide the hair into three sections. These sections don’t need to be neat, as this hair style is all about quick, loose and messy. The three sections should be:
1. ear to ear at back nape section
2. horse shoe section from recession to recession
3. the middle section left

Starting at the bottom section, pull the hair into the centre, scrunch into the nape and pin where your fingers are holding the hair. The pinning should be fairly haphazard.

Continuing to the next middle section, scrunch and pin the hair into place.

For the top section, slightly twist and quiff up the hair (you can create as much or as little height to suit your face shape). Pin the quaffed front section in place to complete the updo.

To finish, spray with hairspray.

I was surprised to see how much of military style can be inVersace fashion. For Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 fashion season Donatella created loads of garments in strong sharp silhouettes with big golden buttons on solid black and blue canvases. However, the pieces were very feminine despite all those strict mannish details.

Another inspiration for the Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2012 collection Donatella drew from her brother Gianni Versace’s earlier works. Baroque curlicues were featured on majority of dresses with a flower being the most popular print. The contrast of colors was amazing. Flowers looked like the unexpected brightness coming from nowhere of the dark and gloomy background.

Beautiful red-carpet-ready Versace dresses were presented, too. But for Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2012 these weren’t as lavish as in previous collections. Seems like the designer wanted to keep a good balance of the looks.

High-Waisted flare pants are so big this spring... The pant that Katharine Hepburn made so popular, is back... I suggest you pair this style of pants with a great heel, just to give the old look a bit of flare. The new flare pant as a rule have loops for a skinny belt, so you can flash up the look with a flashy thin belt.
